Chris Daggett became known to people across New Jersey in 2009 when he ran as an independent for governor. That year, the state’s largest newspaper, The Star-Ledger, endorsed him over the incumbent Democratic Governor Jon Corzine and the Republican challenger Chris Christie. Since then, he has been working as the President and CEO of the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation – where he has personally added to the foundation’s philanthropy a mission to improve journalism in the Garden State. In a candid, informal conversation, Chris Daggett talks about the lessons he learned from his 2009 gubernatorial campaign. He also gets into which is better:  government or the nonprofit sector, when it comes to addressing New Jersey’s most pressing issues. And he gives his views on what qualities are most needed in anyone who wants to be the next governor of New Jersey. This episode is sponsored by The Pollack Financial Group.
