Yael Averbuch began her journey to become a professional soccer player at the age of nine. Today she is a national champion. She’s a midfielder for the 2015 National Women’s Soccer League Champions FC Kansas City and she plays midfield for the US Women’s National Soccer Team. When she played for the University of North Carolina, Averbuch captured the NCAA record for the fastest goal ever scored. These would be crowning achievements to many soccer players’ careers, but to Averbuch, they were stops along a very long journey. In this episode, Averbuch talks about her journey in becoming a professional soccer player and how she’s working hard to continue that journey as she pursues her dream to play in the Olympic Games or World Cup.
