Dawn Zimmer will seek a third term as Mayor of Hoboken. The formerly content to be a stay-at-home mom makes the announcement on this episode of The Backgrounder. She also talks about what she calls her “accidental” entry into Hoboken politics, and about the challenges she has faced during her tenure as mayor – including leading Square-Mile City’s recovery from Superstorm Sandy and the effort to obtain a $230 million federal Rebuild By Design grant to plan for severe weather resiliency. She discusses the city’s relationship with the state two years after her appearance on MSNBC with Steve Kornacki when she disclosed a conversation she had with Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno.
