If a demonstration happens in the middle of night and no one is around to see it, does it still make a point? That was the question that led The Backgrounder to go to Trenton on the night of Wednesday, October 28, the night before the third anniversary of Superstorm Sandy. There, Superstorm Sandy survivors, many who have been homeless due to the storm, were gathered across the street from the Statehouse for three days and nights to push for legislation needed to continue their recovery from Sandy. In the course of the night, two survivors bravely share their personal struggles to maintain their mental health during the last three years.
