This happened to me on or around October 6, 2018. I was asked to change the name of a sophomore female student to a male student's name.
One thing not mentioned in the episode. I find out that the student - her senior year - changed her name back to her birth name. All that stress / drama. No "thank you" from the student for working with her issues. Being support. Being patient. WOW!
We (adults) need to stay in our "lane." I am a teacher, not a pseudo parent. I need to stay in my "teacher-lane."
Parents - there are teachers who do want to support you. Help your child's teacher!
Students - I know you want your teachers to be your friends, but why in the world would you want a teacher who is old enough to be your sibling / parent to be your friend? What does a friend look like to you?
