Join Jill this week as she discusses the upcoming Be YOU event called "Be You Live" which is celebrating its five-year anniversary and 300th episode! Jill acknowledges that this event may not be for everyone, as our nervous systems can sometimes try to prevent us from doing things that will expand and challenge us, but she encourages listeners to truly listen to their intuition to determine if this event is right for them in spite of any doubts or excuses their mind may come up with.
Jill also spends time this episode discussing her perspective on true friendship, describing the type of deep, authentic friendships that she has built upon – ones in which there is radical honesty, vulnerability, and a willingness to challenge each other to grow – and she contrasts this with more surface-level friendships that avoid difficult conversations. Jill shares her own experience of having to have a "clearing conversation" with someone she cares about but ultimately having realized that they were not meant to be close friends. She highlights the importance of shedding relationships that no longer serve us but doing so with self-compassion rather than judgment.
Jill ultimately encourages listeners to reflect on the quality of your own friendships and your relationships with yourselves, suggesting journaling, self-reflection, and allowing yourselves to fully feel emotions as ways to pave the way for the type of meaningful connections she talks about in this episode, believing that when we can be that kind of friend to ourselves, we will attract those kinds of friendships with others!
