Here are some things I learned about networking with higher level people over the years. 

• Make out the list of your dream 20, 50 or 100
• Lead with generosity 
• Follow them online, see what events they are doing to and introduce yourself if possible 
• Next level tactic: offer to speak at the same events for free if possible.
• Comment and interact on social media regularly and then remind them when you actually met them.
