The Bible talks about two kinds of spirit; a spirit of faith (2 Cor 4:13) and a spirit of fear.
As famously modelled in the example of the 12 spies, 10 of those spies had an attitude of fear – they could only see the possible negative outcomes. Meanwhile Caleb and Joshua had a spirit and an attitude of faith – sure, they knew the challenges, but they still believed the best.
The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.
Ps Garth Ball shares with us how to wait on God, press in a little and cry out for Him to reveal the scriptures to us. In doing this we find incredible change and the realisation that we can’t function fruitfully without this dependance on and time with God, in His Word!.
