In this episode, Nicole shares about her internship experience thus far. She shares her reflective thoughts and goals for the future. Her uplifting outlook is insightful and encouraging.

Nicole Birmaher is currently a Music Therapy Intern at Robert & Ann H. Lurie Children’s Hospital is Chicago. She completed her Music Therapy coursework at the University of Miami Frost School of Music in May 2019 and is working towards obtaining her clinical hours, in the hopes to soon become a board certified music therapist. Nicole received the outstanding senior award for her graduating Music Therapy class and wrote a research proposal addressing the effects of live versus recorded music use in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit). In order to educate individuals about Music Therapy, Nicole has a dedicated Music Therapy Instagram account (@nicbirmaher). Nicole feels that there is somewhat of a lack of music therapy presence on social media, especially from a student stand point, and decided to use this unique platform to post weekly videos/posts about music therapy, the profession, and her internship experiences. Nicole hopes that this account will reach individuals, both in the field and outside, and teach them about the incredible work within music therapy and its powerful effects. She is extremely excited to be a music therapy intern and one step closer to achieving her MT-BC credentials and helping others through the use of music.
