We explore whether AI can truly replicate the human judgment and context that give our work meaning, moving beyond simple generation to the harder task of curation. Drawing on Connor Joyce’s concept of the "knowledge DJ" and MeasuringU’s skepticism about AI moderation, we question if machines can build the rapport and nuance required for genuine insight. Ultimately, we examine how designers are navigating the tension between efficient automation and the ethical necessity of holding onto empathy and context.
