Challenge, in the Christian sense, has been defined as God's call for response. God uses a number of means to challenge us, e.g., the challenge of the scriptures (Heb 4:12) when it is proclaimed with authority and clarity; the challenge of the spirit in convincing humanity of sin, righteousness and judgment (John 16:8); the challenge of the saints to a sinful world concerning Jesus Christ; and the challenge of the seasons, such as Christmas, Thanksgiving and Easter.
