Other ways of asking this question are: "Was or Is Jesus really 'Emmanuel, God With Us'?" "Is Christmas based on a man-made myth?" "Was Jesus really born of a virgin?" "Is a human virgin birth possible?"
Many self-professed "intellectuals" and "progressives" are answering a resounding "NO!" to these questions today, including leaders of major denominations - and unfortunately, many of our young people who are exposed to such teachings and philosophies in the universities they attend. "Older" folk tend to take the FACT of the Virgin Birth as a "given," no questions asked. But that is not true of today's young people.
Today's message is intended to provide assurance for our "older" folk as to the awesomeness of what really happened at the first Christmas, which hopefully, will lead to an even greater motivation for worship and adoration of Emmanuel, as well as to provide a basis for our young people to really understand why the Angel told Mary, "with God, ALL things are possible" - even in the scientific age in which we live.
