No one saw the wisdom and power of Jesus coming. Everyone missed in because it was so upside down from their expectations. In this section of Chapter 1 Paul brings our attention to the danger of having hero's that are wise and powerful from the world's perspective. He then declares the greatness of the divine wisdom and power of Jesus' impossible works.
