Big Idea - When do you stop being a product of the teachers and influencers who shaped you? Our thinking and worldview are not a matter of our own making - it is shaped in us by others. How do we know it is correct or true? The world is in turmoil in many places because of drastically opposing world views. We all think our view must be the correct view, but how can we be certain?
The only way to stop being a product of someone else's teaching (world view) is when you start being the product of a different teacher! Every world view is flawed and is full of error, some more than others, but every view has its failures because all humanity is blind, and every teacher is a blind guide of the blind. One option is to stop following anyone, and look only to ourselves for the answers, but that is exactly how the teachers we have followed have led us away from the truth. We are only becoming our own blind guide. The only reasonable and sane option is to find a different teacher, one who is not blind! And there is only one such teacher - Jesus. We know we can trust Him because His life and everything He taught has been vindicated by the resurrection
