Big Idea - We are all called to serve God by using our own gifts, and following His specific call on our lives to serve Him, share Christ, and make disciples, but what does it mean to be doing that together as the Church? Is it really necessary that we work together? Are there things that we can only accomplish when we work together?
We are indeed called to serve God in specific ways that are unique to us. But, building the kingdom is a monumental task and one that in the end only God can do. But God does invite us to join Him in the work He is doing to build His glorious eternal kingdom. But there are several important ways that we can only accomplish this as we work together. It is easy to be so focused on our own ministry and work that we lose sight of how we are part of a bigger team with a bigger task. It is, therefore, important to understand what it means to work together for the sake of God's glory and His kingdom. We need to understand how the kingdom is built both individually and corporately. We also need to see that the work requires 1) the witness of oneness, 2) a collective effort, and 3) a well-coordinated effort.
