Description

Big Idea - Faith is the single most important element in the life of any disciple. How can we have the kind of faith that moves mountains? We are called to be disciples, followers of Christ, who carry on His mission of bringing His salvation to a lost world. The work that Jesus calls us to is difficult at best, impossible at worst - overcoming our own fear and weakness, countless obstacles, the powers of darkness, and the hard-hardheartedness of humanity. How can we possibly be successful?

The kind of faith that moves mountains is not a matter of having enough faith. What it takes is a mustard seed amount of genuine faith to move mountains. It is the object of faith that matters not how much we can muster up because it is God who does the impossible not us. Faith is not something we will ourselves to do as if our determination to believe or to have ”more” will cause us to have enough faith. Faith is being convinced of what is true - how things really are. This mustard seed of faith comes by 1) Replacing our distorted view of reality with the true view of God and the world, 2) Understanding what God has called us to do, 3) Knowing God through a life of seeking prayer - knowing experientially what He is like and what He has promised.
