In the previous verses Jesus has carefully orchestrated His entrance into Jerusalem to make the point that He comes as her King. But, the religious leaders make it clear, they reject Him as king, and are plotting to destroy Him. What is Jesus response to those who reject Him? Beyond that, How does God Himself respond to those who refuse His offer of love and grace? The human response to this kind of rejection is often revenge and vindictiveness. Is that how God feels toward those who turn His love away? He certainly promises to judge those who refuse Him. How does that match up with a God who is supposed to be full of love?
