Description

Enemies, opposition, and persecution can come from many sides. How are we to deal with enemies and opposition? Jesus shows us how to face the most deceptive and violent enemies, as He willingly turned Himself over to the hands of the betrayer, His enemies, and the power of darkness. It was God's will that Jesus go to the cross, but it happened by the hands of His enemies. In the midst of it all, Jesus faces His enemies, betrayers, unhelpful friends, and the very power of darkness with control, compassion, and a firm commitment to God's plan. Such treatment by a so called friend, and by His own people had to make an emotional impact on Jesus. But, in the face of violent opposition and treachery He possessed an amazing calm and confidence, because He knew His Father was in control and His purpose would be accomplished through it all! Thus, He demonstrates great, patience, compassion, and self-control as He begins in earnest, the journey to the Cross.
