Description

One of the ways we can know what the will of God is – that which is good, pleasing, and perfect is in the area of following the laws of the land. Generally speaking, it is good and pleasing to God to respect Government rulers and institutions and live “under” the law. This is not simply a practical instruction, because it is expedient to keep the law, but because all authority comes from God and is set up by God. To submit to human authority is to submit to God, to rebel is to reject God’s divinely appointed institutions, and thus to rebel against God Himself. Such rebellion will not go unpunished – even for a believer! Grace covers all our sins, but it does not pay our speeding tickets!
