As followers of Christ we are to make an impact, by seeking to influence others to new life in Christ. But, none of us stay forever. We all leave, sooner or later. So, how do we leave well? How do we leave behind those we came to minister to? How do we move on with confidence and hope, knowing that we will not be there to shepherd them anymore, to protect them, to keep them on the right path? Paul reminds us, that leaving well is all a matter of living well from the very beginning. We must be an example that is worth imitating, we must proclaim the full truth of the Gospel without compromise, and we must be multiplying our own ministry by raising up others to take our place. In the end, we must entrust people to take responsibility for their own life, in light of what we have taught them, and to walk on their own according to the Word of God. By being intentional in these areas we can be assured of leaving a lasting legacy to God's glory.
