Description

One of the amazing realities of being human is that we are able to contemplate and ponder our own value and worth. But, it is not simply an idle curiosity with us, for not only can we ponder our worth, but we need to feel that our worth is significant. Our sense of who we are, our identity, our ability to find joy and happiness are all tied up the question of our own worth. But, this is presenting an increasingly difficult problem in the modern world that has come to believe that human beings are merely the result of a cosmic accident and billions of years of evolutionary processes. The painfully obvious conclusion for anyone who believes that man is nothing more than the product of evolution is that there is nothing special about human beings. Humans are simply animals, perhaps higher up on the evolutionary scale than most, but in the end, still just a biological sack of chemical reactions. But everything in us screams out that our life has value, that we must be more than merely strings of DNA and ongoing chemical reactions!
