God offers His grace and kindness to all, but not all receive the full benefit of eternal salvation. What sets apart the one who is truly saved? It is not enough to have general faith in God, or even a supernatural experience. Saving faith is a faith that brings us to a personal encounter with Jesus. One who knows they are in desperate need of God’s mercy, and seeks God’s help through Jesus. THis kind of faith is evident by a life that worships God and is centered in Christ. Out of the ten lepers, in was only the Samaritan who understood that it was God who who healed him through Jesus, and he was not content go on with life healed, but not whole. He had a faith that brought him back to a deeper encounter with Christ, demonstrating that he had a deeper and more permanent kind of faith - a faith that not only healed but saved!
