Big Idea - What does it mean to be filled with the Spirit and how can we come to have more of the Spirit in our life to overcome sin, and fulfill God’s purpose and mission in our life? Being “filled with the Spirit” is used in Scripture primarily to speak of the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit in the life of every believer. But, Paul speaks of being filled by the Spirit in Ephesians to describe an active partnership with the Holy Spirit where He gives us what we need to do what is right and pleasing to the Father. Being filled is not something we do, but something that is done to us, but we are commanded to be filled, so we do have a part. Our part is to come under the power and influence of the Spirit, so that He can do His part which is to give us the understanding and power to do what is pleasing to God.
