Summary - Exodus chapter 2 ends with a summary statement of the ongoing suffering and oppression of the ISraelites. The king who knew Moses has died, but the situation for the Israelites is unchanged. For the first time in the text, we read that the Children of Israel are crying out to God because of their great suffering. How does God respond to suffering, oppressions, and the cries of those in bondage? Specifically, how does He respond when those who are groaning under oppressive burdens cry out to Him for help? The answer is simple - God hears, He sees, He knows all that is going on, and He responds by "Coming down" in person to do something about it! He remembers His covenant promises and at the right time, He steps in to save His people!
