The love, grace, and fatherly compassion of God are truly remarkable toward His children! He loves us, just like He loves Jesus, as dearly loved sons - a love that defines our relationship with Him and reveals volumes about His very nature and character. The main point of this story is that all of heaven - all who are His friends and family, are to join in the joy of heaven at the outworking of His great work of seeking and saving that which is lost to Him! If we are truly His children, then our life should be one of great celebration and rejoicing in the outworking of His redemptive purpose in our life and in the world. If we are not learning to share in His joy, then we must conclude, there is something wrong with us!
