Jesus coming changed the world in so many ways. Most significantly, it changed the way people related to God. But, that change was not always a positive one. His coming changed the nature of God’s longstanding relationship with Israel. In this passage, Jesus makes clear that God will no longer deal with Israel as has had done for so many long ages. The coming of Jesus changes things! It also would bring about a dramatic change in God’s dealing with the rest of the world as well.
