Paul began Romans by showing how we did not worship God, or give Him thanks. So, once God has made us right with Himself by His great mercy, that should be one of the first things that is put back in right order. But, now that Jesus has become the perfect sacrifice for sin, how are we to worship Him? We are to lay our very lives on the altar as a living sacrifice. This is not a sacrifice that we give in order to get something from God, to earn His favor, but a response to all that He has already given! This is true worship.
