Description

The blueprint for worship, the plans for the Tabernacle, and all its furnishings, as well as the process for anointing the priests and offering sacrifices, has been given in detail to Moses. Every part and function of the Tabernacle is a picture or “copy” of the heavenly temple, and points to the ultimate worship of God’s people who draw near to Him by the blood and High Priesthood of Jesus, and by faith in Him live forever in God’s presence. But, before God hands over the covenant (the stone tablets) to Moses, there are two final instructions. The first regards the expert craftsmen God has called and appointed for the work of constructing the tabernacle, and the second is a reminder of the great priority of keeping the Sabbath. The first point has to do with how the tabernacle can be constructed according to the incredible design God gave Moses. The second has to do with making worship at the Tabernacle a regular and high priority in the life of the covenant community.
