Description

On today’s Hello Houston, we’re joined by the Alzheimer’s Association’s Mike McGuff, UTHealth Houston’s Dr. Aanand Naik, and behavioral neurologist Dr. Joel Salinas, who all join us in the show's first hour to discuss Proposition 14, a historic $3 billion investment that could make Texas the home of the largest state-funded dementia research program in the country.

Also, in the first hour, we speak with Fr. Efstratios Magoulias and Fote Demeris from the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, who tell us about this weekend’s Original Greek Festival and how it celebrates Greek religion, culture, and food.

Then, in the second hour, we talk with attorney J.T. Morris from the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression, who tells us about their fight to preserve First Amendment rights. Plus, Juan and Anna Hernandez, owners of the Houston-area Mexican restaurant Dona Maria, join us to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month.

And, as always, Ernie, Frank, and Celeste talk about the top stories of the day at the top of each hour, including the federal government shutting down, a proposal to change the way hurricanes are measured, and Pete Hegseth’s new vision for the U.S. military going forward.
