A symphony of daily banal anticlimactic sounds turning into an enchanting rhythmic-entropic sound installation.
Lullabies, pumping milk, cleaning dishes, saying “no”, screaming “no”… .
Routine transposes into a sacred pattern of pulses and sounds. Dark thoughts float and are channeled into an awkward regaton schlager and shakes the desperation away.
As a non musician that composes electronic music for her own performances and films, Mor puts intuition before theory while questioning the mathematical structure of rhythm and tonality. Mor Dovrat is an Israeli performance-artist based in Biel. With her work Mor makes existential paradoxes visible with the help of self-irony. In 2010, she graduated in physical theater from the "Sofy Moskowich Art of Acting School" in Tel-Aviv. In 2016 Mor completed her education with an MA at the "Accademia Teatro Dimitri". In the same year she presented her debut short film "MY FORELOVE" as a director at the 69th Cannes Film Festival. In 2017, she co-founded the theater company "thank you for the compliments" (Freedom of Speechless, Saturn Machine, M.E.G.A - Make Earth Great Again, MISENTO). In 2019 she initiated and co-founded the Biel artist platform "KarteNoire2502". Mor won the OFF-STAGE- grant of the canton of Bern for 2021.
