Monuments Of Shadows , in relation to ongoing working theme: Animal Skin by Grant Jurius is a work that utilizes samples and found sonic material for a compositional piece that wonders about utopian ideas vs dystopian realities as a result of those ideas. The work is presented as a stream of consciousness + abstraction to consider constructive & destructive ideas  implemented through the use of symbolism, architecture, design, advertisement, news media, sculpture, art & historical monuments

The Animal Skin series looks at space and its surfaces as a living organism. Breathing, communicating, living with experiences that records the narratives that occur within them. The artist looks to monumental landmarks implemented by both man and nature. Posing questions to the values we place in monuments, architecture, design and its effects on nature and vice versa.
