- Simple system - Ex. a toaster - I understand it and know how to fix it.
- Complicated system - Ex. a car - I understand some of it but don't know how to fix it. I need an expert.
- Complex System - Ex. an organization - I don't always understand it. Fixing it is not straightforward. I have to engage it and play with it.
- Chaotic system - Ex. Someone shouts fire in a crowded movie theatre. I have to take immediate action.
