For both personal development and in our work as coaches, personality assessments can help us to deepen our understanding of ourselves and others.
Back in 1994 as an angsty teenager, personality assessments were the first thing I encountered that ever made me feel validated and like there were other people like me out there. They were introduced to me by my grandmother, Mary Lou, and I credit them for my early interest in psychology and ultimately, my career as a coach.
Today we're talking about four of my favorite assessments: Myers-Briggs, the Enneagram, StrengthsFinder, and the Energy Leadership Index. I'll be sharing a bit of the background and history of each assessment, their pillars, resources you can use to find your type and learn more, and how I use them in my life.
