"And this poem came to my mind the other day when I started writing it because I was actually thinking of my friend that I lost two weeks ago and we were friends for almost 32 years. So I came to sit down and write this poem about how important it is in life to have a gift. The poem is entitled the gift. Each day is a gift. A chance to make a mark, to live with purpose and leave a lasting spark."
