For our Thanksgiving episode of 🎤Conversations About Conversations 🎙 we asked our moms (Ruth Farber and Urszula Kubrak) to give us advice.
Here's a summary of the advice we received:
- Advice is better when it's asked for. You have to get to know people before you give them advice. One size doesn't fit all. Give different advice to different people.
- The most important thing is having relationships and not just to have them, but to cultivate them and keep them going.
- Listening requires practice. So does empathy.
- Smart people learn from their own mistakes. Wise people learn from other people's mistakes.
- Have a purpose. Be useful to others. Focus on what you have. Be present. Be thankful. Be grateful.
- Listen to your mom.
