July is BIPOC Mental Health Month, and in this episode of Coping 101 our students explore mental health in BIPOC communities with Andrea Ramos-Castillo - an elementary school-based therapist from Seattle Children's Odessa Brown Children's Clinic. Here we unpack the stigma around seeking help, access to culturally competent care and breaking cycles to heal generational trauma from things like racism and oppression.
Presented by C89.5 in partnership with Seattle Children's, Coping 101 is an ongoing series that destigmatizes mental health from a teen's perspective, made possible with support from Crisis Connections, Carter Subaru, Hansmire Builders and Audian.
No matter our age or background we all face challenges, and there are healthy ways to cope. Get started with more episodes and find many local and online resources catered to Black and Indigenous People of Color hosted at
