Today I'm chatting with Laura and she's recently completed a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) at Monash University. She explains really clearly what VCE English Language looks like for those students considering it, as well as talking about how her course works, the work she's doing now with her current qualification, and the various ways you can complete your studies to become a qualified psychologist.
Laura explains in detail how the course works, including the research component of the honours year and other opportunities to explore research in psychology, and the range of subjects you are exposed to within the course.
After completing her course, Laura has been working as a behaviour therapist, helping students with ASD and ADHD develop school and social skills. This work is so rewarding and it's worth noting that this is one pathway of many that you can follow before you become a fully qualified psychologist.
To become a qualified psychologist, you need to complete a four year APAC accredited undergraduate course (like the course Laura has completed), plus a minimum 2 years study. Laura outlines three different ways you can do this and the reasons why you might choose to follow each pathway.
