It's easy to tell someone our opinion of how we're doing (the self check), but where's the proof?
In marriage, communication plays a vital role. And understanding how well you are being heard is critical.
Now we all can go take a communication class. But will it really help?
Only if you know where you are starting.
Standardized tests are used to measure knowledge/ability. They allow you to see benchmarks: your score now vs. your score a year ago.
What you need to know from these benchmarks:
For example:
Do you send your spouse texts that tell him what you need him to do? Are they task-oriented?
Do you sprinkle what you need him to do amongst your gratitude, well wishes, and love you reminders?
There's a totally different language in both circumstances. Which would you like to receive?
Then ask yourself the question: What does my heart want to say?
