Description

In a follow up to the July 2018 podcast on "Eliminating the Battering of Women" Timothy reviews a 2005 article by Bell and Naugle on why a victim of domestic violence would stay or leave their situation. A reading from the 2014 book "Shattered Silence: An Untold Story of Domestic Violence" by Brenna Hall, provides details on life in a domestic violence shelter. The concepts of reinforcement, punishment, extinction, behavioral economics and delay discounting are seen in the light of this serious social problem.
