A local church can be a reflection of the people within - positive and negative. The people are the brush strokes of the portrait of the church and all that the things we do in our lives are the brush strokes of our individual self-portrait. So we best seek to be instructed in God's Word and to carry on adding brushstrokes to the portrait we paint knowing it is to be made perfect by the work of Jesus Christ our Lord, for those whose trust is in Him.
