Description

Human society is increasingly taking the shape envisioned by Aldous Huxley in his novel "Brave New World". I have looked before at the parallels between George Orwell's "1984" and, in this episode, I feature stories which are straight out of Huxley's envisioned dystopia.

In this episode...

English schools buying in mental health support has 'almost doubled' in three years, as prompt access to NHS services for those children most in need continues to be a problem, a new survey has found. I talk about where the focus on mental health in society could be leading.

Father Ted creator Graham Linehan has said that speaking out about transgender has made him the most hated man on the internet. Transgender also features with another story about a mother-of-two accused of calling a transgender woman a man and a racist in offensive tweets telling a court she is 'playing the victim card to stop people disagreeing with her'.

Electric cars are proving unreliable and not necessarily the 'green' option. I talk about the wider context of this story.

Smart tech is so dumb, to paraphrase a headline, and I explain the bigger picture behind all the Smart tech in society.
