Jordan B. Acker has dedicated his life to improving his country and his community.  After graduating from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in History in 2006, he went to work for the Michigan Democratic Party as the Deputy Communications Director.  Jordan earned his J.D. from American University Washing College of Law in 2010, furthering his political and professional interests as attorney-advisor to Secretary Janet Napolitano at the Department of Homeland Security.  After serving three and a half years in the Obama Administration he returned to Detroit with his wife and two daughters, to practice law in the family firm, Goodman Acker P.C.  Jordan serves as the incoming chair of the University of Michigan Board of Regents.   

Denise Ilitch, an of Ilitch Family Companies and President of Ilitch Enterprises, has been a part of Detroit's business and philanthropic community for over 40 years.  As a mother, attorney, entrepreneur, devoted community servant and tireless advocate for women and children, she learned early, from her father, that everyone is worthy of contributing to the world.  Her passion for affordable, accessible, quality education stems from her own experience as a first-generation student, earning a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan, where she currently serves on the Board of Regents.
