“As easy as riding a bike.” That’s the saying. But what if the way you rode the bike changed? Would you be able to unlearn the thing you’ve known since you were a kid?
In the Youtube video, The Backwards Brain Bicycle, Destin from the SmarterEveryDay channel changes the gears on his bicycle, so when he turns the handlebars one way, the bicycle goes the opposite way. It took him eight months to learn how to ride it.
On this episode of Destined To Be, I talk about this video and how it changed the way I think about my subconscious habits.
I share my thoughts on why we feel unsafe when we start experimenting with new habits or ways of doing things, as our autonomic habits subconsciously dictate our lives.
Listen in as I discuss the difference between knowledge and understanding, the importance of transitional periods in our lives, and how to shift your internal dialogue to focus on your unwanted feelings and behaviors in order to change them into the way you wish to show up in the world.
