Description

It's officially the last episode for 2021 and it's been an exciting year since we have launched the podcast in October!

The last week of the year also means that many of us are preparing our goals for the next year. Pieces of advice regarding setting goals are popping out, but today we are going to talk about assessing the goals we have set for this year.

Now don't get bummed out because this is important!

Take a look back in the past 12 months and think about what goals did you set up that you didn't complete. Did you want to be somewhere this year but you're not there? Did you have a target that you didn't hit? Whether it's a sales goal or team-building goal, new client, vacation…

I see you. I've been there. I had goals for this year that I have achieved and missed.

When we miss a goal

Sometimes we talk about the toxic positivity of pushing ourselves to do more or pretend that things are okay when they're not. (Check out how to show up authentically on social media.) We often beat ourselves up when we don't meet certain goals. But I'm here to tell you that it's okay. And that your loved ones doesn't love you less.

Take it as a lesson instead (in this case, you still win!) Ask yourself,

What can I learn from this?

What needs to be adjusted or changed?

If you are not being intentional and purposeful, then you are wasting your timeenergyattention, and space. You are not doing things that are aligned with yourself and your goals. (And If you need help with that, you can reach out to me.)

When we surpass a goal

If you have set a goal and you passed it, then great job. Pat yourself on the back and celebrate your wins. Then proceed to reflect,

What happened there?

Could I possibly have set the goal lower than what I did? (Because you might be selling yourself short!)

You can now set yourself up even higher and let yourself dream. Don't listen to that inner critic that tells you not to hype your goals to avoid disappointment.

Wrapping up

So as you are setting goals this week, I want you to assess which among your missed goals are you still aligned with for the next year. And which goals did you hit that you want to continue and upscale?

There are many different ways to keep track of our goals, and I recommend you to see the Hot Air Balloon method so you can pinpoint where to improve.
