What's up everyone,
I bring to you this very cool mix that serves somewhat as a soundtrack on this very cool and exciting project that I've been working on with my brother and fellow artist, Carlos Mare aka "MARE 139".
Let's be clear.. The sculptures are his works.. I just curated the musical mix along with his approval..
His latest project, The B-Boy Abstracts series, which has been in the works for some years, is now coming to fruition and ready for release.
These B-Boy Abstract pieces, which for now consists of mini sculptures made of steel as well as drawings, capture the movement and flow of this style of urban dance and so, I thought it would be a cool idea to provide a soundtrack that'll give you an idea of the type of music these dancers might be rocking to. These are some of the all time favorite and popular breaks that B-Boys and B-Girls wouldn't mind rocking to..
Also, don't forget, this mix was also inspired by Carlos MARE 139's youthful memories of growing up in his South Bronx stomping grounds where he enjoyed the park jams, watching the likes of "Grand Master Flash" and dance crews like the "Rock Steady Crew"!
