Mention the Clarence River system and most people immediately picture oversized jacks, chunky jewfish, quality bass and fiesty bream. But if you focus your efforts towards the mouth of the system and cast small poppers and stickbaits about the flats you should come up tight on some very respectable whiting. Nick Haynes has been fishing the Clarence system for a lifetime and has a number of species, including whiting, well in his sights.
