The Estuary (or Gold Spot) Cod is a common species in northern Australian estuaries, bays and reef systems. It's an aggressive, hard fighting species that is accessible and has outstanding table qualities. Despite all of this, few anglers target this species - though it's usually a very welcome by-catch.
