Whilst Newcastle might not be the pinnacle of snapper fisheries in Australia, the inshore coastal regions of the area nonetheless hold fish of respectable quality in good, solid numbers.
One angler who really knows how to target Newcastle snapper is David Rudder. The former commercial fisherman and tackle industry worker has been fishing exclusively with lures for over 15 years and has been very successful at taking snapper on artificials.
