Within a stones throw of the heart of Penrith is a little known gem of a fishing spot where wild river bass are thriving and fishing opportunities abound.
Jay Huxley first started fishing this part of the Nepean River system as a schoolboy and some 25 years on he reckons it's actually fishing better now than it was back then, thanks to restricted access and improved water quality.
