Welcome to episode #24 of the DONESON podcast! Today we dive into one of the most important health issues that is not talked about enough: Mental Health. Many of us have struggled with mental health. Issues that range from loneliness to anxiety, depression, and even disorders such as bipolar and others. Whether your affliction is minor or severe, it's important that everyone understands that taking time to deal with your feelings is the key to better mental health. Often with a diagnosis, we look to medication to solve the problem. Although this is helpful in many instances, so is self-care. Self-care can look like many different things. Being protective of your time, not saying yes to all demands, doing activities that you enjoy alone or with friends. It can be an hour alone to read or even taking a day off work to rest. The point is that when you start to feel lost, drained or overwhelmed that you reach out, ask for help and take the time you need. Mental health is just as important as physical health but we need to continue moving the discussion into the mainstream. Listen in to better understand how mental health needs to be is everyone's concern.
